Cooling and Heating Sales Ltd, the Essex based indoor air quality solutions and air conditioning specialists, is currently the exclusive UK distributor for the new Hi-Velocity- HE System, which has an inverter indoor fan motor and is delivering new levels of comfort and cost efficiency to the residential and commercial air conditioning market, as yet unseen in the UK’s HVAC industry.The system works by delivering air via a series of mini ducts, which can be discreetly positioned wherever suitable, resulting in a draught free and even temperature finish ( +/- 1 deg C floor to ceiling, wall to wall). The enhanced system also has a programmed EPC motor and controller and achieves operating efficiencies of up to 78% (an increase of 20% over the conventional PSC motor) which no other small duct high velocity (SDHV) manufacturer has previously achieved. With its proven reliability using a three-phase induction motor and near zero torque pulsation, for an even quieter operation, the Hi-Velocity-HE System brings proven industrial technology to the residential and commercial market. The patented ‘Mass Flow’ technology provides a constant CFM throughout the programming range and environmental conditions no longer dictate how the system runs as a new controller adjusts the voltage and frequency to maintain its programmed CFM.

The new system is field programmable up to 30kW of heating and 5 to 17kW of cooling. The Hi-Velocity system can be connected to a number of heat / cool sources, boilers, heat pump water chillers, ground source heat pump and air conditioning condensing units. Each programmed tonnage having up to five adjustments for on-site fine-tuning. The motor and controller are separate units and require no recalibration, making field replacements simple and cost effective.

By using air to water heat pump chillers (up to 11.7kW inverter on single phase supply), both heating and cooling can be achieved without the need for using refrigerant gases. The Hi Velocity system was well received at the recent RAC exhibition in the NEC.
